Project Training
Training is one of our 12 Cornerstones and is an important component of all of our projects. We provide training to help project groups acquire new skills, increase knowledge, build capacity and become empowered and self-sustainable. Training is provided by our program staff, as well as through cooperation with local extension services, community animal health care workers, universities and other organizations. This can include formal sessions, as well as informal farm visits and demonstrations. Along with animals, project groups agree to pass-on knowledge acquired from trainings to others in their communities.
Different areas of training addressed within our projects include:
- organizational strengthening
- team and community building
- project management
- sustainable agricultural and agroecological practices
- animal management and health
- gender equity
- accountability
- enterprise development
